The KÖKEN Equation

The equation does not calculate the human being; it makes the architecture of the process visible.

The relationships within the Body are often too intertwined to be expressed in separate sentences. KÖKEN therefore uses the equation not as a calculation tool, but as a symbolic map that makes the relationship between Mind, Body, Action, and Time visible. Its aim is not to produce a numerical result, but to place the variables that affect Architectural Change in their proper positions.

The Architecture of the Body is built upon an equation that describes a cyclical system. We act in the Direction offered by the existing Architecture. Understanding gives rise to Action; Action changes the Architecture. The new Architecture produces a new Understanding.

$$\small \Delta\mathbf{\text{BM}} \rightarrow A \rightarrow \mathbf{\text{Action}} \rightarrow \mathbf{\text{New BM}} \rightarrow \mathbf{\text{New A}}$$

The same Understanding produces the same Action. The same Action builds the same Architecture. Without breaking the Cycle, the outcome does not change.

“Action” in this Cycle is not merely physical movement or exercise; Action is a choice. Choosing not to respond is just as much an Action as responding. Every internal Echo that finds a counterpart in the physical world becomes an Action. Tensing the shoulders, drawing a Boundary, or remaining silent and accepting... Every moment Understanding is expressed on the physical plane becomes a brick that builds the Architecture in that Direction.

The Symbolic Structure of the Model

The equation in its simplest form is as follows:

$$\Delta \mathbf{\text{BM}} = (A \cdot Y) \cdot Z!$$

The KÖKEN equation is an unchanging framework that describes the Body's processes of Construction and Destruction.

The Distinction Between BM and ΔBM

BM (Body Architecture) is the Architecture itself. It represents the Body's current structural, mental, metabolic, and behavioral organization.

As long as life continues, Body Architecture exists. BM is therefore not the element that is reduced directly to zero in the formula.

ΔBM represents not the Body Architecture itself, but the directional change that occurs within it. This change describes the effect of Understanding in the Body in the Direction of Construction or Destruction.

$$\Delta \mathbf{\text{BM}} = 0$$

This expression does not mean that the Body stops working or that Construction comes to a halt. On the contrary, it marks the point at which the disruptive or forcing Direction disappears and the system approaches its own natural rhythm of Construction.

A = 0 is therefore the counterpart, at the level of Understanding, of approaching the ΔBM = 0 point. Change does not stop; only the Direction that distorts change disappears.

Construction and Destruction are always present in a living Body. The question is whether this process flows in its natural rhythm or is distorted by Understanding.

The Equation symbolically represents a nonlinear accumulation effect. The variables here—Understanding (A), Intensity (Y), and Time (Z)—bring the process of Construction or Destruction into view.

This symbolic model is not a quantitative formula that can be measured in a laboratory to minute precision with present-day technology. Measuring instruments may not yet be capable of reading the Body's holistic communication network and the cross-relationships among its variables in a single equation. The equation is not a direct numerical calculation tool, but a systematic map showing how the unseen Architecture works.

(A) Understanding

It is the most decisive variable in the equation. The process begins with Understanding, which directly or indirectly affects every other variable. Understanding determines Direction in the equation; this Direction is set by Awareness (F).

The geometry of Understanding plays an important role in the magnitude of the outcome. A small angular difference can significantly alter the outcome over Time. The most fundamental component affecting the breadth of our Understanding is Perspective (B); it directly affects how we move into Action.

Our Actions take shape along the axis of the Past (G) and the Present State (H). The Past and the Present State feed one another:

\(G \rightleftharpoons H\)

The Past shapes the Present State; the Present State reconstructs the meaning of the Past.

Understanding (A) does not take values between −2 and +2 except for 0; it is a Direction variable that extends infinitely in the negative and positive directions. In other words, A may be ≤ −2, A = 0, or A ≥ +2. Here, 0 does not express absence, but the directionless center.

\(A \in (-\infty, -2] \cup \{0\} \cup [2, +\infty)\)

A = 0 does not mean that the Past or the Present State disappears; it means that the system does not identify with them and produce a Direction. When F = 0, A = 0, because the system is freed from the necessity of producing Direction through identification.

At this point, the person does not disappear. The Past does not disappear. The Present State does not disappear. The Body does not disappear. Only the self's constant state of directing, defending, correcting, and intervening dissolves.

Understanding reaching the 0 point does not mean that the person feels nothing, thinks nothing, or withdraws from life. It means that Understanding does not cling to the Past or the Present State and produce a compelling Direction toward + or −. The person still lives, feels, chooses, and acts; but Action no longer arises from automatic Defense, deficiency, fear, or the compulsion to correct oneself. The 0 point is the centered state in which the system can see what is there more clearly without imposing an extra Direction that would disrupt its natural rhythm.

Zero is not the absence of Understanding; it is Understanding at the directionless center.

The Role of Variables

(F) Awareness

Awareness exists within the moment; it is either present or absent. The F variable shows not the amount of Awareness, but three distinct states:

  • F = -1: The identified state of reaction in which Awareness is absent and the system automatically produces Direction.
  • F = 0: The state of metacognitive observation, witnessing, or non-interventional awareness. (At this point, the compulsory Direction of the existing Understanding is suspended; the system moves into the position of observation. The Architecture remains centered and continues in its most efficient state.)
  • F = +1: The state in which Awareness is present and a conscious response is possible.
\(F \in \{-1, 0, +1\}\)

(B) Perspective

It is not an independent variable; it is the geometric effect that determines the angle within the framework of Awareness.

If F = -1, Perspective narrows: \(B \in (0,1)\)

As Perspective narrows, the system's instability multiplier grows; Destruction becomes more pronounced.

If F = +1, the Architecture is at its most appropriate angle: \(B = 1\)

In this case, Perspective does not affect the outcome; Construction continues as it should.

\(0 < B \le 1\)

(G) Past

The Past is not merely the events that have occurred; it encompasses genetic predisposition, epigenetic transmission, inherited forms of Understanding, beliefs, teachings, and experiences that have left traces in the Body. It is in reciprocal interaction with the Present State.

\(G \rightleftharpoons H\)

G cannot equal 0, because every person is always subject to genetic and experiential influences. G = 1 does not mean the absence of influence; it is the lowest foundational level of the Past in the system. As the value increases, the formative influence of the Past on Action and the process grows.

\(G \ge 1\)

(H) Present State

It is our perceptual selection, cognitive flexibility, attitude, emotional state, and bodily organization at the present moment. The Present State is in reciprocal interaction with Intensity.

\(H \rightleftharpoons Y\)

H cannot equal 0, because a person is always within a particular perception, emotion, attitude, and bodily organization. H = 1 does not mean the absence of influence; it is the lowest foundational level of the Present State in the system. As the value increases, the formative influence of the Present State on Action and the process grows.

\(H \ge 1\)

F represents the Awareness that gives Direction to the equation, while B represents the Perspective that gives form to Action. The sum of (G) and (H) is the mental counterpart of the Architecture; it determines the form of Action and its cumulative effect on ΔBM.

$$A = F \cdot \left(\frac{G + H}{B}\right)$$
(Y) Intensity

Intensity is the outcome of the Cycle; it reflects our current physical state. It affects the magnitude of the process's progression. Understanding is the most important component determining Intensity. The two reinforce one another positively or negatively.

Intensity consists of three components:

(Y₁) Inner System

The physiological layer; it includes the digestive, immune, circulatory, lymphatic, excretory, and reproductive systems, as well as internal organs, hormonal balance, metabolic state, and energy distribution.

(K) Bridge

The diaphragm, pelvic floor, multifidus, and transversus abdominis.

(Y₂) Outer System

The external physiological and mechanical layer consisting of muscles, skeleton, fascia, tendons, joints, skin, posture, muscle tone, and movement organization.

The Inner System produces tension, the Outer System carries this tension, and they feed one another positively or negatively. The Bridge determines how the Load is distributed.

\(Y_1 \rightleftharpoons Y_2\)
$$Y = \left(\frac{Y_1 \cdot Y_2}{K}\right)$$

Variable Limits

\(Y_1 \ge 1 \qquad Y_2 \ge 1 \qquad K \ge 1\)

Y₁ and Y₂: Y₁ = 1 and Y₂ = 1 represent neutral, balanced foundational functioning. As the value increases, the Load within the system grows.

K ≥ 1: K = 1 represents the level at which the Load is transferred exactly as it is. As K increases, the Load is distributed more effectively, and the system becomes more resilient and stable.

(Z) Time

It is the Cycle itself; it defines the process. It is considered within the range of 0 < Z < 1; 0 expresses absence, while 1 expresses completion. The effect of Time is not constant; it changes according to the phases.

Z traces the Cycle's progression over Time, while Z! shows the effect that Time has on the change at that point in the progression.

* Within the range of 0 < Z < 1, the mathematical equivalent of Z! is the Gamma function: Z! = Γ(Z + 1)

The Effect of Time

The effects are highest at the beginning \((0.1)! \approx 0.9514\)
They dip towards the middle \((0.5)! \approx 0.8862\)
They rise again toward the end \((0.9)! \approx 0.9618\)

More Construction or Destruction takes place at the beginning of a process. Over Time, the system adapts and the effect decreases. Finally, with accumulation, the effect rises again.

The Z (Time) variable is merciless; rewiring neural networks and renewing tissue require biological Time.

The Expanded Form

$$\Delta \mathbf{\text{BM}} = \left[ F \cdot \left(\frac{G + H}{B}\right) \cdot \left(\frac{Y_1 \cdot Y_2}{K}\right) \right] \cdot Z!$$

Understanding determines the Direction, the Body carries the Load, and Time makes the outcome visible.

* The system is undefined when B = 0 or K = 0.
